I think I might have an addiction. There. I said it. This in no way indicates any desire to in any way curb the (possibly…ok: probably) addictive behavior, just so you know.

Side effects may include a weird expertise in Q-words-not-including-U
If my stinking Blackberry had a Words With Friends app, there would be no question: I would have an addiction. In fact, I’d need a twelve-step program. (Sidebar note to R.I.M.: getting WWF could save the company…just saying’.) I love that stupid game. Call me geeky, it won’t bother me in the slightest, but I love games involving words. Maybe it’s ’cause I’m a wanna-be writer, or a voracious reader, or maybe it’s because I’m a homeschooling mom. Who knows? Who cares? All I know is I think this game is a blast.

1. Hip-Hop "music" 2. Anyone named "Kardashian" 3. Dream. Then, work. Hard. 4. I can do singer immitations. (I can sound almost exactly like several famous singers, including Wynonna, EmmyLou Harris, Tanya Tucker, and Natalie Maines.)
But, I’m not exclusive as far as my word games go. I love words, and I love all word games. I love “Scrabble” and “Boggle” (I stink at “Boggle”, though. My in-laws, however, are professionals. It’s intimidating) and those fun conversational games like “Scattergories” and “Outburst”. We played a great one at my sister’s house not long ago called “Loaded Questions” that had us rolling.

Super Fun.
My favorite word game, though, by far, is Apples to Apples. This game is just a riot. Basically, players are given seven nouns which they must choose one from to best illustrate an adjective drawn from a central pile. Each player gets a turn judging the best choices, and the winning noun-holder then gets the adjective. First player to win the set number of adjectives wins.

It is my opinion that players often win adjectives that end up describing themselves, sort of like a personality profile. What ensues is hilarious social commentary, great conversation, and lively debate on a thousand wildly variant topics. The rounds get loud and the laughter and drama that ensues from people defending their choices is so fun.
- That’s some profound truth right there, friends.

Yup.
Go git you some friends, and have some words with them…
